Alvord/Merrill Halloween Party

Last night we went to Josh's mom's house for her annual Halloween party. This party usually falls on Halloween night but this year it was the day before. Usually everyone dresses up but we were the only cool ones who showed up in costume. It is tradition for Bonnie, my mother-in-law, to make home made donuts, bread sticks and chili.

She makes these completely from scratch, can you believe it?

Here we are dressed up again. We are going for a record # of costume changes this year. Josh is an old school basketball player and I'm a ballerina. I miss dressing like this. I want to start taking dance classes again.

We were trying to teach Kennedy what to say when she knocks on people's doors for candy. She didn't quite get it. This is her best "Scooby smile". She is going to be Scooby Doo for Halloween.

Our niece Rylie dressed up in her costume. She is a lady bug. She and Jayden are carving their pumpkins.

Sammy and Cole working on their pumpkins.

Lauren can be quite the sassy pants sometimes. She told Josh he needed to go in a "poop time out." This is them having a time out war.

Happy Birthday to Mari Elizabeth

What's not to love?

She's eight feet tall, skinny, blond, and beautiful.
She makes my brother incredibly happy.

And she dances like this:

We love you Mari! Sorry this is a day late.

Cute Costume

I made this witch costume and Kennedy modeled it for me. She was going to wear it but I sold it to a lady whose seven-year-old daughter is going to wear it as a skirted tutu. The hat will fit her much better than it fit Kennedy.

Busy Week

We have had a very busy, crazy week. I had two boutiques, two Halloween parties, one sleepless night throwing up, one mutual activity, work, and I have been filling orders like a crazy woman. Here are some pictures from our awesome Halloween parties:

Allan and Cassi had a party at their new beautiful home on Friday night. It was a rock star party and everyone went all out with their costumes. It was so much fun.

Kristi, Jenna, Nicole and Casch.
We went as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Sleazy and trashy, and yes I did stuff my bra.

We played a mummy wrapping game. I'm in there somewhere.

Josh LOVES doing rock star kicks.

Playing Rock Band. Thanks a lot Cassi and Allan, now we have another thing on our "want list".

Josh thought he was going to be the only one with tattoo sleeves. It was very funny when we showed up and everyone there had them on. These guys took it one step further and had fake ciggies too. I thought they were real and I was mad at them for smoking in someone's new house with babies around.

Saturday night we had a get-together at our house. Joe and Tori put it on, we just had it at our place. The theme for this one was Hollywood couples. We had:

Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf

Micheal Jackson and a small boy

And Steve and Terry Irwin

We came up with the idea for our costumes about a half hour before the party started. I was a procrastinator and had a busy week so I didn't plan a costume for this party. Luckily we had everything we needed for this, including a permanent marker to "chip" Josh's tooth with. I was worried it wouldn't come off but it did. It's a good thing Josh and I have chosen not to wear our hair like this on a regular basis.

Attracting Mary Swanson

Dance Party!!!

We bobbed for apples,

And played a version of Spoons, but used pumpkins.

We had a good, productive week but are both ready for things to settle down a little bit. I have a feeling they won't until after Christmas. This next week we have 2 more boutiques, work, more Halloween parties, Halloween night, and I'm sure plenty more that I am forgetting about.

Logan City

Yesterday we took a day trip to Logan. I L-O-V-E Logan in the Fall. It is so charming and with the leaves, old buildings, and small town feel it is the perfect setting for a perfect Fall day. We went up there to get pumpkins, eat at a little cafe, and enjoy a day away from our normal lives. The weather was great and we were so happy to enjoy a beautiful Fall day.

We had lunch at the Bluebird Cafe. It is this cute little restaurant, candy shop and ice cream parlor that was built in 1914. It kind of reminded me of the candy shop at the beginning of Willie Wonka.

After lunch we walked across the street to the Logan Tabernacle. I love this building, it is absolutely gorgeous.

One of our main reasons for going up to Logan was to get our pumpkins for Halloween. We found this cute little family pumpkin patch. They grew pumpkins, tomatoes and corn. They just left an "honor can" out for people to leave their money in. I couldn't believe they trusted people enough to do that. I thought that was pretty amazing. I wish I had enough faith in people to use an honor can for something. Anyway, our pumpkins are great and we are so glad we found this little patch.

Here are out perfect pumpkins. Can you believe we got all of these for only $13?

After we picked our pumpkins we went and got a milkshake at an ice cream bar.
We had a great day.

What's going on in my house right now

K so my friend Laura tagged me and since she's the whole reason I started blogging I thought I'd do it. Plus a lot of you have never been to our house so her it is in all its glory for you to see.

Here are the rules:
The rules are you have to take 10 pictures of the following things and you have to do it right away.
No straightening, cleaning, or wiping your child's nose.
Then you tag six others.

#1: What is your family doing right now?

Well my mom is probably doing this:

My dad is probably doing this:

and my husband is working with this:
#2: What does your closet look like?

#3: What does your bathroom look like?
#4: Kitchen sink:
#5: Favorite room:
My favorite room in our house is the great room. The kitchen/living room is where we spend most of our time.

There are usually shelves in between the sconces on the wall but right now they are in my car so it looks empty.

I have a pile of returns by the door that maybe one day I'll get to.

#6: Your fridge:
Yes, I am a fridge clutter butter. I love pictures and I have them everywhere, especially my fridge.

#7: The laundry room
We all already know that I have a problem with laundry. I NEVER do it! Here we have two loads of Josh's laundry, one basket of clean clothes of mine that are waiting to be folded, sheets that need to be washed and put into storage (we got a new BIG bed!), and bathing suits that are still out from Cancun in August. I know, I am disgusting.
#8: Dream Vacation
anywhere that looks like this...

Lake Como, Italy

An African Safari

#9: Favorite Shoes
I can't just pick one pair!

I opted out of the 10th category which was a self photo. Now I tag anyone who wants to do this!
