18 Months

Lucy's 18 month pictures were done by the amazing Jen Herem.  We love her.  I think they capture her so perfectly at this age.  She is beautiful, always on the go,  and always happy, and I think these pictures show just that.

Well, this post is more than 2 months over due, but nevertheless here it is.  I know I am the only one who is interested in these posts, but I don't care, I love to go back and read about things she did that I have forgotten about.  Lucy is still our crazy, bust, non-stop action girl.  She seriously has the best personality ever.  She is always so happy, is so very animated, and has a zest for life that anyone would be jealous of.  She's got the cutest face around, and the brightest smile I've ever seen.  I couldn't love her more.  At 18 months, Lucy:

  • still takes two 2 hour naps a day, and sleeps 12 hours at night.  She has always been an amazing sleeper, and for that I am grateful.  She asks to go down for a nap and to go to bed at night, this girl loves to sleep, just like her mama.

folds her arms in the cutest possible way for prayers.  I seriously could die from her adorableness when she does this.

is very mischievous.  I don't know if she means to be, or if she is just overcome by curiosity, but she is into everything, all the time.

runs with t-rex arms (photos above).  It's hilarious and something some of my siblings did/do.

never ever ever stops moving.  Everyone always comments on how busy she is, strangers and people we know.  She has an endless amount of energy, it's truly amazing.

is still as tiny as ever.  At 18 months, she weighs 19 lbs and is still below 0% on the charts.  She is tall though, lucky girl.  She can still wear most of her 6 month clothes from last summer.

took and hated survival swim lessons.  She LOVES to be in the water and swim, just not with a stranger who dunks her under and makes her float on her back.

has an ever expanding vocabulary.  She picks up new words every day and is a very smart little girl.  She makes eye contact and tilts her head when she is telling a story or trying to explain what she wants.

is very polite and is great with her pleases and thank yous

still is a champion eater, except she won't touch poultry or eggs.

still love Home Alone, and Tangled, but has also added Elf to the movie list.

is obsessed with her BF Finn.  She may love him more than she loves me.

loves going to the park and Gymboree- anywhere she can run free and play.

doesn't like having dirty hands or feet.

loves bath time and brushing her teeth, all 6 of them!  Yes, she is a very late teether, and I am 100% ok with it.  She is currently breaking her first molar, which will make 7 teeth at almost 19 months.

still loves to accessorize.  We change hats, scarves, bows, shoes, etc. probably 8000 times a day.  The first thing she wants to do in the morning is pick out a bow, some shoes, and a jacket, and go for a walk.  She usually comes up with quite the combination, and it entertains everyone we pass.

she loves to see our neighbors dog and is always disappointed when he isn't out in the front yard.

is extremely social.  She loves to say 'hi!' and 'bye-bye!' to everyone we pass, wherever we go.  She will say goodbye to someone until she can't see them anymore.

gets so excited to get her hand stamped at the end of our Costco trips.

loves to play with her babies.  She is the best little mommy.  She pretends to change their diapers, gives them bottles, shares her snacks with them, rocks them and pats their backs.

still gets a binki when she goes to bed.

likes choo-choos, animals from a distance, building blocks, balls, swinging on the swing her dad built in our back yard on our cherry tree, coloring on surfaces that aren't paper, her dad, and other kids.

We love you, our precious Lucy.  We wouldn't change a thing about you.  You are perfect in every way possible and we are so proud of you.

Changes

These past few months have been insane.  Great, but really busy and they've brought a lot of changes along with them.

In January, Josh graduated with an MBA from Carnagie Melon Tepper School of Businees.  I was insanely proud of him, and we are both thrilled to close the school chapter of our lives, forever.  In January, we also got pregnant- with a SON!

February and March, for me, were spent napping and trying to figure out what the heck I wanted to eat, and of course playing with my crazy Lucy.  The job hunt was on for Josh.  We were grateful for the time he had at Goldman, but were ready to move on after graduation.  At the end of March came an offer, and an acceptance of that offer, and at the end of this month we are off to San Fransisco!

The past three weeks have been spent packing, trying to find someone to rent our house, in CA  with my family, and looking for a place to live.  Lucy has been a real trooper through all the chaos and schedule changes.  She LOVES her Grandma Linda and Aunt Lindsay and was in heaven with the constant attention she got from them on our trip.  I will do a long and very overdue post on that little obsession of mine in a bit.  She is so fun right now, I need to take real time to write about her and how this is seriously the best age ever.

16 and 17 months

Our crazy little Lucy is 17 months old (tomorrow)!  She is the most energetic person I know.  I don't think people comprehend how busy she is, until they see her go with their own eyes.  She is such a little munchkin, she looks like she shouldn't be able to move as quickly as she does.  She loves to climb on everything, runs everywhere she goes and rarely walks, loves her friends and is the happiest little girl on earth.  She smiles all day long and thinks everything is hilarious, which we love because we constantly get to hear her adorable little giggle.

She LOVES going to her little Gymboree classes with her best friend, Finn.  She can't get into the play area fast enough and shrieks with excitement the whole time she's in there.  Her favorite thing to do is walk up the slide by herself (thank you, Josh, for teaching her that one), and to flop onto her tummy when she gets to the top and slide down.  She darts down this little ramp the kids are supposed to walk up, and refuses any help while she's charging it.  I'm sure we'll split a chin open any day now because she is constantly in fast motion.

She finally had a mini growth spurt!  I am guessing she gained a pound or two, but haven't weighed her.  I'm assuming she is 18 or 19 lbs these days- a tiny little air filled midget.  She adores the bath and always asks to take one.  She is heart broken if we tell her she can't take one.  She LOVES Tangled.  I think it may be tied with Home Alone these days, and could pass it up very shortly.  She is talking more and more every day, which is so nice!   She mimics a lot of what we say, which makes me realize how careful we need to be around her.  We have been doing the My Baby Can Read program for about 5 weeks, and she can read three words now!  She has eyes, nose and clap down, and I couldn't be more proud!!!!  We are going to attempt to potty train her in a couple of months.  She is showing several signs that she is ready and we are excited about it.  We aren't sure what to expect, but hope it goes well.

Lucy loves to be pulled around on her sled.

She also still LOVES to eat and is the healthiest little eater I know.  She has still only had sugar once in her life, on her first birthday.  She thinks candy is a toy, and loves blueberries.  I am so proud!

She loves her Dada.  Every time my phone rings, she rushes over to it so excited to talk to 'Dada dada'!

Loving the Little Gym

Another one of her favorite things to do is climb, jump, and play on our bed.

Lu would stay outside all day if we would let her.  Unfortunately, she runs straight for the street any chance she gets.  I can't take my eyes off of her for half a second.

More gymnastics class.

You can't use the bathroom without peeping Tom keeping an eye on you.

She can wear a big girl pony tail now!

Sprinting through the mall.

On Valentine's Day!

Loves her babies.

Gymboree

She stashes all of her crap under our couch.  I pull this out from under there at the end of every day.

She loves her Finn.  He is indifferent about her.

Loved the tattoos and stickers Aunt Mari and Uncle Chris sent for Valentine's Day,

and the balloons we got her.

The only thing she will sit still for these days...Tangled.

She did NOT like the car wash.  She had this sad look of concern on her face the whole time we were in there and just whimpered.  Poor baby!

Has slippery hair that looks like this throughout the day:

The absolute BEST smile on earth:
