Busy Week

We have had a very busy, crazy week. I had two boutiques, two Halloween parties, one sleepless night throwing up, one mutual activity, work, and I have been filling orders like a crazy woman. Here are some pictures from our awesome Halloween parties:

Allan and Cassi had a party at their new beautiful home on Friday night. It was a rock star party and everyone went all out with their costumes. It was so much fun.

Kristi, Jenna, Nicole and Casch.
We went as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Sleazy and trashy, and yes I did stuff my bra.

Cassi and me

Allan with the keg of root beer

We played a mummy wrapping game. I'm in there somewhere.

Jenna and me

Josh LOVES doing rock star kicks.

Playing Rock Band. Thanks a lot Cassi and Allan, now we have another thing on our "want list".

Josh thought he was going to be the only one with tattoo sleeves. It was very funny when we showed up and everyone there had them on. These guys took it one step further and had fake ciggies too. I thought they were real and I was mad at them for smoking in someone's new house with babies around.

Saturday night we had a get-together at our house. Joe and Tori put it on, we just had it at our place. The theme for this one was Hollywood couples. We had:

Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf

Micheal Jackson and a small boy

And Steve and Terry Irwin

We came up with the idea for our costumes about a half hour before the party started. I was a procrastinator and had a busy week so I didn't plan a costume for this party. Luckily we had everything we needed for this, including a permanent marker to "chip" Josh's tooth with. I was worried it wouldn't come off but it did. It's a good thing Josh and I have chosen not to wear our hair like this on a regular basis.

Attracting Mary Swanson

Dance Party!!!

We bobbed for apples,

And played a version of Spoons, but used pumpkins.

We had a good, productive week but are both ready for things to settle down a little bit. I have a feeling they won't until after Christmas. This next week we have 2 more boutiques, work, more Halloween parties, Halloween night, and I'm sure plenty more that I am forgetting about.

wow. i didn't know halloween is now garmet-optional! awesome!

Halloween is so garment-optional! Your costumes for both nights were pretty great. Nice work. One thing you might not want to forget about in the coming weeks-Josh's Bday!

Your costumes are too funny! How fun!

Magda, who are you? I can't view a profile for you. And yes, Halloween costumes are garment optional in my book.

Anonymous said...

i dare you to ask your bishop to verify that. seriously, next time you interview for a reccomend, and he asks if you wear your garments "day and night", ask him if "day and night" excludes halloween.

also, would you be comfortable with your beehives seeing you dressed like that? look, i'm not a prude, but garments are a covenant, not a convienience.

becca said...

Magda, you sound pretty prudish to me. don't be judgmental. don't tell other people what to do. it's fine if you don't agree, but don't comment on random peoples' blogs about "What would Jesus (or Magda) do?" Duh.
Anyhoo Court,
tell Josh he looks kinda stoned in the rock star photos! (Magda should love that too!) You guys rock!

The Alvords said...

Hey Magda, this is Courtney's husband Josh. Neither Courtney nor I know who you are since you have neglected to bring that to light, in spite of your obvious concern with our life.
If you wouldn't mind doing us couple of favors please:
1) Introduce yourself so that we can talk about this if you have really have an issue with Courtney/Us; and,
2) check a dictionary next time you decide to use big words like recommend and convenience so that you don't misspell them....oh, and while you're at it, please also look up the word 'judgmental.' For that one you can use a dictionary, or just stick with the example of the Pharisees from the Bible.
Love,
Josh

The Alvords said...

By the way, Becca, I have make-up around my eyes, that's why I look 'stoned.' NOT because I actually am stoned, like some (Magda) might believe. I was too busy being immodest for that.

Spiker said...

hey magda thank you for calling my daughter to repentance. Is that your full time job or just part time? While I agree that halloween is not garment optional I am quite sure you have your own issues you could work on instead of other peoples...

becca said...

Josh, it would be ok even if you were actually stoned. Because I would not judge you, and I would love you anyway. And I wouldn't comment on other peoples' blogs who I thought might be stoned. And I'd dare to ask my bishop in my next interview if I could be super judgmental and still get into heaven.
And Joe makes a scarily-good M.J.

Spiker said...

Go Becca! You rock!!!! Judge not lest ye be judged Magda!

Spiker said...

Hey Courtney and Josh

Put your garments on and stop doing drugs.

Love Dad

This is why I have an "invite only" blog so sweet little pumpkins like MAGDA can't nose into my fab life cuz theirs suck so bad. Oh and magda, I didn't go to church yesterday, simply because I didn't want to! Perhaps you shopuld call my bishop! Kisses! ;)

goodness. i'm sorry, i didn't mean to cause such a fuss. i wasn't trying to be judgemental. i was just voicing a thought. i think it came out wrong. lots of people comment on courtney's blog that don't know her and i thought it was ok. she seemed okay when i first commented, so i figured we were just discussing.

so i answered back with what i thought. the fact that we don't agree doesn't mean i'm judging her or she is judging me. it just means we are different.

i don't have a profile/blog or anything. i found courtney through savvy baby.

sorry for all the trouble.

-magda.

ps. sorry that i am terrible speller josh. i know, i'm working on it.

WAAAIT?! Court, you were dressed up!? j/k. Im sad i missed the fight! Its better that way, i probably would have scratched someone's eyes out, and it wouldn't have been my adorably slutty pamela anderson sister in law.....Anyone feeling like making their blogs private?! ahaha.Ps. GO JOSH & BECCA!

the organic kitchen said...

Oh Magda! I am sorry for being snotty! You are right we should be able to discuss these things nicely. i think anyone that knows Court knows she is a sweetie and we all wanted to stick up for her...And I spell things wrong too. All the time!

becca said...

Ugh! Linda, you're too nice (in a good way)! I guess I should apologize to Magda because I was being mean. Being a mean girl is definitely one of my faults! But I am really defensive about my family because they are the best, most incredible people I know, and anyone else who knows them wouldn't judge them for not following the rules to the letter one night during the year (or when they wear speedos in restaurants!). I'm pretty sure they're not going to hell. Yet.

The Alvords said...

Yet Becca, yet. Gosh, I really have the best family. I love you all!

Wow! I was just going to say how awesome your costumes look and what a string of comments are here! The beautiful thing about our religion is that in a lot of things it is up to us to follow the spirit and decide for ourselves what exactly is ok and not ok. (ie rated-R movies, caffeine, etc.) You and Josh are awesome and I love that you are so genuine! Keep it up!

The Alvords said...

ALL of you have too much time on your hands...

josh, we're just girls. spending too much time on the internet is what we do.

again, sorry for sounding excessively judgemental. i don't think anyone is going to hell.

thanks linda.

and i think i'm just going to back away now before anyone else scrathes my eyes out (either on blogspot or in real life....)

Celebrity couples - what a fun party idea! I love dressing up, and adults do not get enough opportunities. You two are very creative, well done :)

ahhaha Linda! You are hilarious. Magda, thanks for apologizing, the claws are put away! (it was just a joke, get it Cat fight?) ANYWAY. Happy Halloween everyone!

Just so you know, there is no way my blog was found through A Savvy Baby. There were no links to my family blog on their page, only to my online business. There are also no links to my blog on my business website. Next time when you want to lie do it so you don't get caught so easily. Please don't look at my blog anymore Magda. Thanks!

OH. MY. GOSH.

I am laughing so hard right now.

I am so glad that so many people love my daughter enough to defend her so swiftly! It makes me very happy to know that so many people have her back! It is still so sad to me that after all these years and so many lessons in church about love, kindness, charity etc... that there is still a need for many to nit pick and place judgement. Let's all remember that Christ taught first and foremost that we love one another and if we truly love one another we won't feel the need to judge others. The haters or "Magda's" of the world should remember that. Love you Court!

Courtney, I am pretty sure you're going to Hell. Be sure to wear shorts.

Just kidding, Magda. We Spikers just have to stick together.

What?

Ok, so I'm not a Spiker, I was just hoping to inherit one of those fat cars they like to drive Steve drives around.

P.S. Wile I was typing this my 2 year old went into the front yard unsupervised. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to hell, too.

+spencer+ said...

this is AWESOME. i didn't know blogland was could be so controversial. this is almost as fun as theRockSalt.com — most of us on that site are going to hell.

i digress. i just wanted to say kudos on the dumb and dumber costume(s).

Chris and Mari Spiker said...

YES! Phew, I was beginning to feel guilty about the Savvy Baby comment..I am off the hook! SERIOUSLY, its time to make the blog PRIVATE.

Anonymous said...

Wow! I came to read and I saw 34 comments!

I don't remember how I found Courtney's blog, but I'm a long time reader, first-time commenter:)I love her hats and scarfs! (Especially for little girls)

I know we all look at everyone's blog friends, and maybe Magda doesn't remember where she first heard of Courtney's blog, so cut her some slack.

I don't think we should judge other people, but I do think this is a very interesting topic, and I've wondered about it alot myself. I would see it as a learning opportunity, and maybe we should start asking questions and learn more about how this subject relates to the gospel. This could be a great Relief Society topic, or maybe something to discuss with visiting teachers who love us for who we are and won't judge. And hey, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to ask our Bishops. They are there to serve, not judge, and can probably give great council!

Anyway,I guess I'm lucky commenter # 35!

-Sara Webb (please don't hate me for not having a blog profile either, I usually just scan blogs for cute craft inspiration, which I have found here many times!!)

Hey now i am finally going to comment on the costumes! I love them! Hilarious! the dumb and dumber are my favorite!I love Josh posing with his butt out!Tori and Joe's costumes were genius! You guys are very creative! What fun things you do.

I don't think that what Magda did deserves ANY slack. She was just plain rude. I think it's rude to go onto someone's blog you supposedly don't know (which I also don't believe, I think she does know me and she didn't feel comfortable saying what she wanted to say to me, so she created a fake profile name. I could totally be wrong, that's just the idea I got from her. She sounded to me like she knew me personally.)and leave a horrendous comment like she did. Those who really know me, know that I am not a sensitive person. My feelings don't get hurt easily at all and they absolutely weren't in this case, but I think if you're going to comment on someone's blog you don't know, make it a nice one. You know what? Even if you do know the person whose blog you're commenting on you don't write what she wrote. If she was that worried about me being an example and my worthiness she should keep it to herself or talk to me directly about it. She should not have left that for anyone's family and friends to read.

On the other hand, I'm kind of glad she wrote what she did because she had us all rolling all night long. We are a feisty bunch and LOVED giving her a piece of our minds. I "dare" anyone else to screw with this bunch.

I'm telling ya Cort...Make it a private blog...sounds like Magda's not the only nosey blog leach...xoxo

Courtney and Josh,
My name is Keri Stewart. I am in your parents ward and I think you know my daughter Ashley. you both went to Saugus High. I sometimes look at your blog. I found it I guess you would say by blogstalking. Sorry. In reading these comments people put on here and the discussion you are having concerning Madga I was thinking that we are members of the church and everyone has their own interpretation on what is alright and what isn't. We are taught not to judge people but i sometimes think that we mormons are the most judgemental at times. We each have our own way of living the gospel and when others don't do as we think should be done then we think that they are doing something wrong. I am pretty strict with my kids but there are things that I allow my kids to do that others have a fit about. We are all here to help each other but i think we should also look for the good in each other and not at what we think is wrong.
i am writing under my daughters blog because I don't know how to do this blog thing yet.
you and josh seem to be very happy, and do so many fun activities and have so many talents. it is fun to read your blog.

I about peed my pants when i read magda's comment.. first because i was shocked, and 2nd because it was so funny!! who honestly has time in todays world to care about things like that?! As i was looking at your fun pictures from the night i was just smiling thinking to myself, "what a fun couple" the thought that you didn't have G's on didn't even come through my mind once. Anyone that notices things like that so quickly.. well thats just weird. Anyways, just wanted to quite being just a lurker, and tell you that I really do enjoy your blog.
